Two ultra sounds confirm it: Baby Olstadt is a boy! The first technician said, "see that at the end of my finger? Those are boy parts". Today's technician had to move the baby (ie. me and my belly) around a bit before we could see "down there", but eventually he moved and we very clearly saw boy parts.
We had two ultra sounds this week because the first one identified a small calcification on the babe's heart. Sometimes it is nothing and sometimes it's a soft marker for Downs Syndrome. As you can imagine, our minds and hearts went wild with worry for the last 48 hours. However, today's very in-depth scan actually showed it getting smaller (usually it just goes away) and normal anatomy. The doctor has no concerns. We took some deep breathes, thanked friends/family for their love, support and prayers and now will start to think about the nursery.
One last note about today's ultra sound. Our lil buddy was lying exactly how JLO sleeps at night: face/stomach down, one hand on head, one knee bent, and one leg stretched out. So cute!
So excited for you! And adorable that he's already taking after his dad. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I am so glad everything looks good! That had to be so, so scary! I love that he's sleeping like Dad and can't wait to see what you plan for the nursery <3
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the ultrasounds are so clear! I love the image of the teeny babe sleeping like pops. So cute.

Congratulations on your little boy! I'm so glad that everything looks good too. I'm sure that was a scary wait to see the second ultrasound.
